Yes—Taiwan. Unexpected, yet incredibly fascinating. From the moment I received the invitation from the Taiwan Trade and Representative Office in Muscat to the time I landed in Taipei, barely a week had passed. But for me, the unknown is always welcome. I was honored to be appointed by the Oman Chamber of Commerce to represent Omani tourism at the International Tourism Workshop, organized by the Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF), held in Taipei over a 23-day period.
This intensive Taiwan International Tourism workshop brought together senior government officials, tourism professionals, travel experts, and industry leaders from around the globe—particularly from Asia and the Far East. Distinguished speakers included Taiwan’s Minister of Tourism and respected university professors who delivered insightful presentations on tourism evolution, innovation, and the transformative role of technology in the travel industry.
The participant list was just as diverse and inspiring, with attendees from as far as Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Fiji, and Latvia; neighboring countries like Jordan; and lesser-known destinations such as St. Kitts & Nevis and São Tomé and Príncipe. It was an enriching experience to engage with tourism professionals from across continents, sharing challenges, strategies, market dynamics, and visions for the future.
Journey through innovation and culture — My Taiwan International Tourism Workshop experience unveiled the future of global travel.
Spending nearly a month in Taiwan gave me a unique opportunity to understand not only the nation’s tourism sector but also its culture and way of life. Thanks to Taiwan’s outstanding public transportation system—bicycles, buses, taxis, metro, and high-speed trains—we explored much of the country during our four weekends, traveling from coast to coast in under 3.5 hours.

And yes, I did try the infamous stinky tofu… and let’s just say, it lives up to its name! But it’s all part of the experience. Taiwan’s vibrant night markets are a window into its soul—bustling with life, flavor, and authenticity. The people are calm, honest, and genuinely welcoming, and the cities even offer free public Wi-Fi, making it even easier to explore.
A global gathering, local inspiration — My Taiwan International Tourism Workshop story is a celebration of learning and connection.
The workshop concluded with Panorama Travel participating in the Taiwan International Travel and Tourism Exhibition, held at the base of the iconic Taipei 101—once the world’s tallest building. The exhibition provided a valuable platform to better understand the Far East travel market—its demands, expectations, and emerging trends.

Taiwan International Tourism Workshop.
This journey to Taiwan was more than a business trip; it was a powerful reminder of how tourism connects the world—and how Panorama Travel remains committed to positioning Oman on the global tourism map.
