Oman Tourism Student Workshops.
It was a great honor to present a workshop on the role and operations of travel and tourism agents to the students of the Tourism Department at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU). The session offered an invaluable opportunity to engage with the next generation of tourism professionals and share practical insights into the travel industry.
I extend my sincere thanks to Dr. Hamad Al Mahrezi, Head of the Tourism Department at SQU, for his kind invitation and for making this workshop possible. His continued support for student-centered learning and industry engagement reflects the department’s commitment to bridging academic knowledge with real-world practice.
The workshop centered on Panorama Travel as a leading example of an Omani company specializing in educational and cultural travel. Students were introduced to the company’s core mission, values, and operational strategies that position it as a model in Oman’s evolving tourism sector. We covered several key areas, including:
- The role of educational travel in cultural exchange and soft diplomacy.
- The logistics and planning involved in creating meaningful tour experiences.
- How Panorama Travel aligns with Oman’s Vision 2040 for sustainable tourism growth.
- The challenges and opportunities in local and international tourism markets.

The session encouraged student interaction through a Q&A segment. It sparked thoughtful questions and discussions on entrepreneurship, innovation, and tourism careers.
At Panorama Travel, we believe in the power of education, travel, and collaboration to shape a stronger, more connected tourism industry. Engaging with university students is a privilege and a responsibility. It reflects our strong commitment to supporting the growth of Oman’s tourism sector.
