Overview

The Birds of Oman Trip is a 14-day serious Oman birding adventure that can be booked as a PRIVATE trip for  2-9 Pax. On this trip, we will explore a mixture of birds in the sultanate, which is at the crossroads of avian biodiversity more than any other country in the world. This adds to the excitement of birdwatching in Oman. Nearly 540 species have been recorded from 3 continents and still counting. This tour, designed by our experts, covers the best bird-watching sites in Oman.

Whereas the north sees a mixture of birds from Europe and Asia, the birds of Dhofar are closely related to African species. Thus, within the borders of Oman, there are common birds from three continents. The birds in north Oman are from the West Palearctic and the Oriental regions, while many birds in Dhofar are from the Afrotropical region.

THANK YOU VERY MUCHAGAIN FOR OUR LOVELY TOUR

Dear Badar It‘s only one week since we are back and we find ourselves in a completely different world - snow covers leafless trees , chimney fires give warmth, all our needed locations like shops, restaurants etc are found in walking distance or easy reached by public transport. No more luxury vehicle and broad roads , but a tiny Peugeot and narrow streets, no more guidance and advice by a skilled , friendly and smiling Badar - we are back to reality and daily routine. Thank You very much again for our lovely tour in Oman and all the best to You and all family. Best regards Beatrice Michael will send You more about birds one day but it will take some time.

WE PREFER A LOCAL AND ECO-FRIENDLY TRAVEL AGENT, THEREFORE WE CHOSE PANORAMA TRAVEL

Whenever possible, we prefer a local and eco-friendly travel agent („buy local“). Therefore we chose the Omani company Panorama Travel for our birding excursion throughout Oman. Panorama Travel is not a dedicated „birds only“ tour agent, so we got a panoramic overview of nature, culture, history, and costumes of Oman as well as many bird „hot spots “. Quite a number of well-known birding sites held only a few or fewer birds, so, luckily, our guide Badar chose several sites barely or never visited by international travelers. All in all, we saw some 128 birds including 27 species new to us. Although we did 4000 km mostly on excellent roads, off-course also some 800 km off-roading, traveling was very pleasant. The food was excellent, and the people were very friendly. our very experienced guide loved to show us his country and explained everything very well. In brief, we had a wonderful time! And we wish to thank Panorama Travel for all their efforts. Many greetings from our +3° area :) Michael & Beatrice

BEYOND EXPECTATIONS

The itinerary for this trip is well-thought-out and provides an excellent way to experience the birds, natural beauty, biological diversity, and culture of Oman. Our guide is on not only the bird species, behaviors, and habitats but also on agriculture, wildlife, and vegetation. Our accommodations were very nice and the food was very delicious. We left Oman with many great memories and over 250 new avian experiences. How often do you get to experience a gazelle, vulture, and red fox right outside of your hotel?!?! Thank you Panorama Travel. Well done Vladislav Bubik

A WONDERFUL TOUR, WELL PLANNED & EXPERTS WITH ALL ARRANGEMENTS

The planning and attention to detail from office staff and guides were excellent. Badar & Mousa proved to be an amazing team. Both possessed a great sense of humor and were very good in their respective roles. The guide's knowledge of birds and plants is incredible and their ability to explain the ecological interactions between plants, insects, and birds was brilliant. Every evening, they reviewed the day’s bird checklist with us, and we discussed the possibilities for the next day. Overall, it’s not just a birding trip. It’s an adventure that exceeded my expectations! We had a wonderful time and we are looking forward to joining the next adventure with Panorama Travel. All the best from Prague Iveta
