Oman Tourism Student Education
Oman is investing in tourism education to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to lead the future of the nation’s travel industry. Badar Al Yazeedi was honored by the Advisory Board of the Tourism Department at the (SQU) Sultan Qaboos University membership.
The University President made a strategic decision to establish the Advisory Council for the Tourism Department at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), aiming to strengthen collaboration between academia and the tourism industry.
This prestigious council comprises members from some of the most influential organizations within Oman’s travel and tourism sector. These include the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, Oman Convention and Exhibition Center, Omran, Oman Air, Muscat International Airport, The National Museum, and the Kempinski Hotel. The collective expertise of these institutions reflects the council’s mission to bridge academic excellence with real-world industry insight.
Here are the key responsibility of The Advisory Board:
- Offering expert advice to the department council on academic, research, and service strategies.
- Recommending methods to enhance and expand field training opportunities.
- The board proposes initiatives to improve graduate employability and help students prepare for careers in the tourism industry.
