Overview

The Empty Quarter Overnight is a two-day PRIVATE overnight adventure to discover the world’s largest continuous sand Ocean. In this adventure, we explore Oman’s natural park of Frankincense trees, investigate the ancient trading routes to the legendary Atlantis of the Sands (the lost City of Ubar), explore the authentic Bedouin life, and overnight surrounded by the pristine dunes under one of the most breathtaking starry skies in the planet.

 

 

Practical Information & Considerations

  • The Empty Quarter Overnight.
  • 7-days before the start of the tour is the deadline for instant booking. If your booking is less than 7-days before the start of the tour, you need to send an inquiry to check the availability.
  • Visiting sites where you will encounter steps, cobbled streets (mountain villages), rocky and uneven ground, slopes, and steep walks.
  • 4WD drive transportation includes a long journey along winding graded and sandy trail roads.
  • 1-night is spent at an authentic desert camp.
  • We will meet you at your hotel or any location in Salalah.
  • The tour starts in Salalah and ends in Salalah.
  • We charge per person based on how many persons are on the Empty Quarter Overnight – Atlantis of the Sands. If you have a large number of people or you require any customization, please contact us.

 

Physical Endurance

  • Many sites are accessed by climbing slopes or steps. All Panorama Travel programs require that participants have a good degree of fitness enabling 2-3 hours of walking a day. However, if you have any doubts about your ability to manage a program, please ask our travel counselor whether the Empty Quarter Overnight is suitable.

2 CANCELLATION

  • If we are unable to provide the required services. We will refund you in full.
  • If you decide to cancel your booking the following charges apply:
  1. 7 full days prior to tours/activities – 100% refund.
  2. 2 full days prior to tours/activities – 50% refund.
  3. Less than 2 days or no show – 0% refund.

Tour start. Pick up from any location in Salalah and depart along the scenic Salalah/Thumrait Highway over the dramatic Dhfar Mountains.

  • Investigating the "Atlantis of the Sands" had earlier sparked considerable interest among past Arab scholars, as part of their legendary past when southern Arabia had existed in riches and splendor.
  • We will explore the desert oases. It is a real lush oasis of palm trees. The water appears because it is close to the surface of the earth and the foul smell comes from sulfur, which mixes with water.
  • You will enjoy overnight under a dome of stars surrounded by the dramatic landscape of some of the world’s highest dunes.
  • ACCOMMODATION: Authentic Arabian Camp | MEALS: Lunch / Dinner

  • We will explore the Frankincense trees natural park, one of the UNESCO sites of ‘The Land of Frankincense'. Dhofar. More than 5,000 frankincense trees can be found in this desert valley.
  • MEALS: Breakfast / Lunch
