Overview

Oman’s Ophiolite & The Hajar Range Geological Phinominas is a 9-hour PRIVATE geology tour. This tour will explore the obduction of the Oman ophiolite, which travels hundreds of kilometers from the ocean to Oman. We will also explore the unique geological phenomena of the Hajar range, including massive folds and the great extinction site.

  • Visit sites where you encounter steps, cobbled streets, and uneven ground.
  • We suggest comfortable, conservative clothing, good grip footwear, a small backpack, a cap, and sunscreen.

Physical Endurance 

  • Many sites in Oman can be accessed by steps or climbing slopes. All Panorama Travels programs require participants to have a good degree of fitness, enabling 2-3 hours of walking daily. YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A GEOLOGIST TO ENJOY THIS FANTASTIC TRIP

Dear Ream & Panorama Travel Team, Thank you for the great day. You don't have to be a geologist to enjoy this fantastic trip. We learned a lot from Issam about geological periods, and the rock formations were mainly sediments. I love the great extinction site. Too many photos & too many beautiful memories to count. THE TOURS WAS CAREFULLY PLANNED AND BEAUTIFULLY CARRIED OUT

Thank you for the two brilliant geology day tours, the tours were carefully planned and beautifully carried out. We learned about continental collisions, mountain-building, erosion, the opening and closing of oceans, rock formations, folds and faults, great extinction, and more! The guides were excellent teachers and shared their deep knowledge of the Sultanat's geoheritage and culture. The explanation of the 4,800 million years of the formation of the earth into 1 year and how the events occurred from the atmosphere formation to the occurrence of humans was so interesting. The picnics at the top of the MOHO & the ancient ocean floor were planned very well. We had a lot of fun! This was my first Panorama Travel Geo trip, and I look forward to joining the longer trip.
