Overview

Ibn Battuta in Oman, a 16-day cultural immersion trip to the Sultanate of Oman, the land of majesty and mystery. Panorama Travel guides lead this cultural adventure following the footsteps and the description of the great geographer on his journey in Oman.

In this cultural adventure holiday in Oman, You will discover the architectural treasures – from Bronze Age burial sites and historic forts to the glittering, contemporary Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and Royal Opera House and you will encounter them in the cities, where sellers of silver, frankincense, and spies ply their trade-in labyrinthine Souqs.

Oman is luxurious, elegant, stylish, conservative, and, most importantly, balancing tradition and modernization.

You will be refreshed with pristine beaches, rugged mountains will engage you, and you will be inspired by the sultanate history that spans over 7,000.

You will love the searing sands and striking gorges. The Hajar and Dhofar ranges, the rolling dunes of Al Sharqiya Sands, our lush wadis, and the vast, open landscapes.

Wherever you go in the sultanate, following the footsteps of the great explorers, you find warmth and kindness to visitors and greetings of peace with the widest smiles in the world.

 

Physical Endurance 

  • Many sites are accessed by climbing slopes or steps. All Panorama Travel programs require that participants have a good degree of fitness enabling 2-3 hours of walking or 1-1.5 hours standing still on any given site visit or excursion. 

 

 

Practical Information & Considerations 

  • This is a PRIVATE adventure you can book it any time of the year.
  • 14-days are the minimum to book before departure. 
  • 4 people are the minimum number of people to book this Oman cultural adventure.
  • Visiting sites where you will encounter steps (eg. at forts), cobbled streets (mountain villages), rocky and uneven ground, slopes, and steep walks.
  • Transportation in 4WD includes a long-distance journey along winding mountain roads, graded roads, and coastal roads.
  • We charge per person based on how many persons are on the tour. If you have a larger number of people or if you require any customization, Kindly, contact us.

 

Terms and Conditions

  • We require a down payment to reserve this tip.
  • Cancellation fees: If you decide to cancel your booking the following charges apply:
  1. If cancellation by you more than 14 days before arrival we will refund 100% of the net program cost.
  2. Cancellation by you 10–14 days before arrival we will refund 90% of the net program cost.
  3. Cancellation by you 7–10 days before arrival we will refund 50% of the net program cost.
  4. Cancellation by you less than 7 days before arrival. Will make no refund.
  • If we are unable to provide the required services. We will refund you in full.

ALL YOUR GUIDES WERE WONDERFUL. THEY WERE WARM, FRIENDLY, RESOURCEFUL, AND FUN I found Oman to be a friendly, peaceful country. Your people are kind and intelligent. I was amazed by what has been accomplished in just 50 years. Sultan Qaboos was truly a visionary. I will strongly recommended this program to others. My two favorite days were the day we picnicked at snake canyon and drove through the Hajar Mountains and the full day in the desert with lunch with the Bedouin family and camel ride to watch the sun set. My favorite experience was getting to know our guides personally. They were awesome,fun and could work miracles HOTELS Most Hotels were very nice, especially the Crowne Plazas TRANSPORTATION / VEHICLES Very comfortable. THE GUIDES PROVIDED NOT JUST KNOWLEDGE OF OMAN BUT HELPFULNESS AND A SENSE OF HUMOR.

The variety of experiences was incredible. This was the first trip I have taken with a group of people that was so cohesive. The guides provided not just knowledge of Oman but helpfulness and a sense of humor. I knew Oman would be a great experience from what previous travelers told me, but I didn't realize the geography of the country was so diverse and so breathtaking. The urban planning that has gone into developing Oman is second-to-none. I love the architecture, the grandeur of the palaces and the Opera House, cleanliness of Muscat, and the warmth and friendliness of the people everywhere. I felt safer in Oman than in my own country. I feel I could live in Oman in spite of some cultural differences and feel welcome and happy there. I wish more people throughout the US could have the opportunity to see Oman the way I did. It would dispel some of the myths that inhibit Arab-American relations. Omanis have perfected the art of hospitality and friendliness, and this contributes to a healthy climate for learning and sharing. I tell everyone I see about amazing Oman. I have been posting information and pictures on Facebook about my Oman adventures. I am getting a lot of positive feedback from people, primarily in Tennessee and the DC Metro area, who are not familiar with Oman. I loved everything we did in Muscat and Nizwa and felt honored that our group was able to meet with His Excellency. I loved all the visits to geographic, historical and archeological sites. I was fascinated by Duqm. How many cities/ports in the world are created from scratch? Such an amazing story to tell about Duqm. DEEPER LEARNING ABOUT, EXPERIENCING THE CULTURE AND PEOPLE.

I read all supplied material. The pre-meetings and reading prepared me well for the trip. Yet the country grander, more awesome than expected. People were most welcoming, warm, holy. I was amazed of the Countrywide feeling of tranquility, holy, respectful of past and living into the future. The Government care, and planning of country and for people is an outstanding model. Absolutely an epic experience for me as an American to learn of a not-stereotypical Muslim country and people that is at peace with itself, its people, and all countries and people. Also, just an awesome land. Panorama Travel services were extremely excellent in light of all it covered- airfare, meals and guides. The handling of our stopover in Qatar due to flights scheduling was beyond the expectations. I love the Hajar mountains, meeting with some children & village residents All accommodation were excellent and have a great atmosphere. All meals were great, the Ocean Blue, Ubar and the village lunch were my favourite.
