Overview

This Dhofar birdwatching tour is a PRIVATE 7-day serious birdwatching trip in the Dhofar region. On this trip, we will explore a long list of birds not found elsewhere in Oman. The reason for this diversity is the different climate in Dhofar, with its summer monsoon and, therefore, different plants and trees. The presence of these birds creates a striking difference between birdlife in Dhofar and the rest of Oman. Dhofar birds are mainly African in origin, and the species have a northernmost distribution in Dhofar. We will explore the UNESCO sites of Dhofar frankincense land. You will enjoy the terrain diversity of Dhofar from white beaches, green plateaus, mountains & the world’s largest sand ocean (The Rub’ al Khali – The Empty Quarter).

Dhofar Birdwatching Tour
Philipp Ottmann

WE COULD NOT HAVE ASKED FOR A BETTER GUIDE

Thank you of the brilliant trip. Our guides, Badar & Ahmed, were exceptional in every way. Of course, they had unbelievable knowledge of where and how to find birds. He was a real pleasure to be with. The Itinerary was thoughtfully planned, and we were able to see a huge variety of Birds. The accommodation was comfortable, and the food was delicious. We will be doing the Raptors of Oman Trip in the central desert and will plan it so Badar & Ahmed can lead us there. All the best, Philipp Ottmann
